Hello, I’m Emma

I’m a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Prof. Dip Psy C) based in East Bristol. I offer Neuroaffirming online and telephone counselling for adults (18+) across the UK.

My approach is warm, collaborative and inclusive. I work with neurodivergent and neurotypical clients, with particular experience and understanding of ADHD, autism, masking, burnout, late diagnosis and self-discovery.

Counselling with me is a space to explore what’s happening for you without judgement, pressure or expectations about how you should be.

My background

Before establishing my private counselling practice, I spent over ten years working in the corporate sector and a further decade in education and the charity sector, including supporting neurodivergent children, young people and their families.

This experience informs my work with parents and carers of neurodivergent children and young people, who may be navigating advocacy, overwhelm, burnout and the emotional demands of supporting their family.

I have also volunteered as a counsellor with Bristol Mind, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and life challenges.

Lived experience

Alongside my professional experience, I bring lived experience as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent person and as part of a neurodivergent family.

These experiences shape my neuroaffirming approach and my belief in understanding the whole person within the context of their life, relationships and environment, rather than viewing differences through a deficit-based lens.

Professional qualifications

  • Advanced Certificate in Neurodiversity-informed Practice

  • Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice (Prof. Dip Psy C)

  • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills & Theory

  • Level 3 Diploma in Hypnotherapy & Introduction to Counselling Skills

Professional standards

I am an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work within their ethical framework.

I receive regular clinical supervision, hold professional indemnity insurance and undertake ongoing professional development (CPD) to keep my practice informed, reflective and responsive

What this means for you

I understand, both personally and professionally, what it can be like to navigate systems and expectations that don’t always make sense or fit.

This helps me offer a compassionate, non-judgemental and neuroaffirming space where you can explore your experiences, understand your needs and be yourself
