Supporting a neurodivergent child or young person can bring love, pride and connection — and at times, it can also feel overwhelming.
You may be navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, burnout, sensory needs or challenges around education, while supporting your child, communicating with services and managing the demands of everyday life.
Counselling for parents and carers can give you space to focus on you — your feelings, needs and wellbeing — without judgement or blame.
Counselling for parents & carers of neurodivergent children
I understand this from more than one perspective
Alongside my professional experience supporting neurodivergent children, young people and their families, I also have lived experience of neurodivergence within my own family.
This gives me an understanding of some of the emotional load that can come with advocating, navigating systems and trying to support your child while keeping yourself going.
I won't tell you how to parent or assume I know what's right for your family. Counselling is a space to explore your experience, your needs and what might make things feel more manageable for you.
You deserve support too
Space for you - Somewhere you don't have to hold everything together.
Process difficult feelings - Explore worry, guilt, frustration, grief or exhaustion without judgement.
Understand your needs - Notice your limits, capacity and what you need to feel supported too.
Feel less alone - A confidential space with someone who understands neurodivergence.
